FES International receives second HSE Award for Ichthys LNG project performance

8th April 2016

FES International, a global producer of fluid transfer solutions, has won a ‘Best in Industry’ award as part of a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) program introduced by the INPEX-operated Ichthys LNG Project.

This is the second award to acknowledge the company’s health and safety performance on the project, for which FES supplied a series of Diverless Bend Stiffener Connectors (DBSCs) for the central processing facility and floating production, storage and offloading facility currently under construction in South Korea.

As part of the program FES submitted monthly HSE metrics including pro-active measures to negate the potential risk of injury. There was also assessment through a series of HSE audits and inspections conducted by INPEX and its Ichthys LNG Project URF EPCI contractor McDermott Australia.

FES achieved zero hours lost due to injury for the full project scope and was praised for having a business ethos that positively promotes safety.

Managing Director of FES International, Rob Anderson, said: “In our industry safety has to be our number one priority. To be recognised by INPEX and McDermott as being at the top of our game is a fantastic achievement for the team.

“We’re proud to have such a strong safety record and have recently been attending a number of HSE forums held by INPEX to present and talk about good practice and maintaining a total safety culture. It’s great that safety is something we’re known for.”

The HSE incentive program encourages recognition and reward for all those in the industry, from individuals to entire sites, who promote the ideals of continuous improvement.
